Shirestone Academy Green Pledge

The TEFAT Green Curriculum is arranged around four interlinking sustainability themes and each Academy is committed to reflect one theme in their own setting.  These are Green Systems, Green Regeneration and Diversity, Green Communities and Green Citizens.

This is a way of teaching and learning that puts the environment and sustainability at the heart of the curriculum.

Our commitment is to: Green Communities and Green Citizens. We will:

• Learn about the sustainability of our food and clothes and where they come from

• Regenerate our school garden to use in our plants science units

• Work to educate our children and community on ways of decreasing our energy usage

We pledge to reduce the amount of paper used across school, and to increase the amount of paper recycling.

We aim to do this through the use of our Eco Council and an increase use of the technology that we have within school.
